Climate Change, Environment, Sustainability, all of these happened in one universe, Gender Equality, Sexuality Rights etc happened in another universe with no regard to each other. We saw the interlinks, and learned to draw inspiration from the older Ecofeminism movements and thus EFRF evolved.

2012 – 2015 - We started our work identifying the waste issues caused by sanitary napkins. Our first product biodegradable sanitary napkin was appreciated by DST, but we realized that Sustainable Menstruation is the future, and moved from single-use menstrual products to reusable ones in our awareness training and advocacy movements.

2015 – 2021 - On understanding the nuances of health, rights, choice, economic and environmental concerns, our work expanded to sustainable menstruation, holistic health, comprehensive sexuality, SRHR, gender, and sexual violence. We also helped many other individuals and collectives to start their work in this space.

2021 Onwards - Now we use eco-feminism as a lens to critically understand, evaluate and advocate for the public good, identifying these to be important aspects of public health. EFRF is now operating all over India, more actively in South India, and is headquartered in Kerala.
